About this camp

The CCNY STEM Institute's Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning program is a free summer course designed for high school students (grades 9-12) to introduce them to the exciting fields of AI and machine learning. The program emphasizes hands-on projects that mimic real-life engineering applications, allowing students to explore the magical world of AI without needing advanced math or computational skills. Students will not be required to write programs from scratch but will instead modify parameters of instructor-provided examples. Upon completion, students will gain familiarity with the mechanisms behind popular AI/ML applications such as chatbots, speech recognition, language translation, character recognition, natural language processing, radar data interpretation, and biology applications. The program aims to cultivate critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and creativity through engaging activities and real-world projects.
